Revenge of the Sith showed their leaders executed by Darth Vader, with Emperor Palpatine ordering the shutdown of the Separatist droid armies. While the Republic was reorganized into the Galactic Empire following victory in the Clone Wars, little has been seen of what became of the Separatists after the war. While the series thus far has primarily focused on the Empire establishing its hold on the galaxy and the beginnings of the transition from clone troopers to stormtroopers, Episode 6, "Decommissioned," sheds some light on the other side of the Clone Wars' conclusion - the fate of the Separatist forces. While there has been much Star Wars media set during this era between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, little has been seen of the specific period in which The Bad Batch takes place, when the Clone Wars have only just ended and the Empire is still too new to have legions of stormtroopers at its disposal.
